The Dwelling Home incorporated both new construction as well as remodel/renovation, showcasing our product and service talent. This modern masterpiece originally began as a remodel to an existing abode and was eventually stripped down to the studs and foundation. New foundation and additions were soon added, completing the project in July 2014. Dwelling Designs conceived the exterior design of the home as well, drawing inspiration from modern Scandinavian architecture.
This new construction project in Edina, Minnesota gives the initial impression of a modern take on an Italian villa when first glancing at the exterior. But on the inside, the contrast couldn’t be more significant as you step into a world of Hollywood regency and glamour, also known as “maximalism.”
Dwelling Designs was hired to renovate this midcentury modern home in Golden Valley, MN, overseeing the construction, design, and furniture implementations. The goal was to maintain the integrity of the original architectural vision with its significant angles, while updating the overall look to reflect a more practical and contemporary feel.

Featured on HGTV and DIY channel! Dwelling Designs was tasked the challenge of remodeling a bathroom within an oversized room. The design team took a previously mundane space to the next level by completely demo'ing out the entire space and starting from scratch. A massive storefront window expands the view overlooking a golf course, while a sleek soaking infinity tub sits in front of it. The shower that sits in the center of the room is completely enclosed in glass. Waterproof speaker tiles are installed for a touch of tech and custom closets fill the perimeter of this modern remodel.
